The Walnut Hill Garden club of Hanover invites interested members of the public to a free lecture and slide show, “Gardening in the Shade” to be presented by Suzanne Mahler on Tuesday, evening, February 3 at 7:15 p.m. at the Phoenix Masonic Lodge, Broadway and Washington Streets, Hanover,

Gardening in the Shade:  Shady sites pose challenges but need not lack pizzazz!  This presentation will define types of shade and cover site analysis, cultural conditions, and soil amendments accompanied by colorful images of shade gardens and plants.  Learn which trees, shrubs, and perennials tolerate low light while providing fabulous flowers and foliages for a peaceful shady retreat.
